Attachment and nurturing schools
From 2007-2014 I led a project along with Heather Baldry from University of Strathclyde on supporting teachers’ understanding of attachment and nurture. This project, Learning Together about Making Choices was in collaboration with the Jeely Nursery, Castlemilk and was funded by The Robertson Trust, KPMG Foundation, NHS Scotland and Glasgow City Council.
The professional development model for this project was an embedded one situated in practice. Teachers were supported in their learning of attachment and nurture through the development of child-led play and reflecting on interactions within real contexts.
